Co-Founder (PhD, Docent)
Jukka-Pekka Ranta has over 10 years of post-graduate experience in research and mineral exploration in Finland. Jukka-Pekka has a strong understanding of the Fennoscandian geology and formation of mineral deposits during the complex geological evolution of the region.
He is a specialist in petrography, ore microscopy and geochemical data processing. Jukka-Pekka is specialized especially to gold and its characteristics and exploration within Scandinavia, but has experience in other mineral deposits types as well (e.g. Li-pegmatites, magmatic Ni-Cu-PGE deposits). Jukka-Pekka has been actively involved in multidisciplinary research/business projects aiming to develop low-impact mineral exploration methodologies, especially in areas with former glaciations, such as Finland, where outcropping bedrock is rare.
In addition, Jukka-Pekka holds a position of University lecturer in mineralogy and economic geology in the Oulu Mining School (University of Oulu) where he also holds a title of Docent in applied mineralogy and hydrothermal ore-forming processes.
